Completely unprepared for any of this, you turn to run.
Your feet pound on a ground that you're just realising that you can't actually see.
There is something about this whole thing that doesn't make any sense. Something that doesn't feel real.
Even as you think that, you suddenly feel sharp pain, as teeth close around your legs. Your head slams into the ground, with a realness that you couldn't argue, if you weren't knocked senseless.
There is a jerk, and you scream as one of your legs is torn from your body. Dizzyness hits almost immediately, as well as a sudden coldness.
Your eyes close.
